Non-Custodial Security for SEI Blockchain
Discover how we built Onsei wallet - a secure, intuitive, and non-custodial crypto wallet purpose-built for the Sei blockchain.
Overview
Sei is the first parallelized EVM blockchain, optimized for high-performance decentralized applications across sectors like DeFi, NFTs, gaming, and social platforms. Built with scalability, low latency, and seamless user experience at its core, Sei offers a powerful foundation for next-generation Web3 products.
Onsei Wallet was created as a secure, intuitive, and non-custodial crypto wallet purpose-built for the Sei ecosystem. With a strong focus on user autonomy and safety, it stores private keys locally, supports biometric protection, and enables effortless management of multiple wallets on a single device. Core features include sending and receiving tokens, storing assets securely, viewing transaction history, managing an address book, and operating several wallets from one app. Onsei Wallet is released as an open-source project, reinforcing Sei’s commitment to transparency, decentralization, and community-led innovation.

Onsei Wallet – Non-Custodial Security for SEI Blockchain
Background
At the time of development, the Sei ecosystem lacked a dedicated non-custodial wallet aligned with its infrastructure and performance standards. Users depended on third-party tools that offered limited support and a fragmented experience.
Onsei Wallet was built to fill that gap — combining security, usability, and native Sei integration in one unified application. In addition to delivering a user-friendly and feature-rich product, Onsei sets a technical baseline for wallet development within the ecosystem. As an open-source project, it invites the developer community to contribute, audit, and expand upon its foundation — fostering innovation and long-term resilience across Sei’s fast-growing environment.
